“সেইদিন যিশু ঘর থেকে বেরিয়ে সমুদ্রতীরে গিয়ে বসলেন।
অনেক লোক তাঁর চারপাশে জড়ো হল, তাই তিনি একটি নৌকায় উঠে বসলেন,
আর সমস্ত লোক তীরে দাঁড়িয়ে রইল।
তখন তিনি দৃষ্টান্তের মাধ্যমে তাদের অনেক কথা বলতে লাগলেন।
তিনি বললেন, ‘একজন বীজ বপনকারী বীজ বপনে বেরোল।
বপনের সময় কিছু বীজ পথের ধারে পড়ল,
আর পাখিরা এসে সেগুলো খেয়ে ফেলল।
কিছু পড়ল পাথুরে জমিতে, যেখানে বেশি মাটি ছিল না;
তাই দ্রুত অঙ্কুরিত হলেও, সূর্য উঠতেই তা ঝলসে গেল
এবং শিকড় না থাকায় শুকিয়ে গেল।
কিছু পড়ল কাঁটাযুক্ত জমিতে,
আর কাঁটা গাছ বেড়ে উঠে তা চেপে ধরল।
আর কিছু বীজ পড়ল ভালো জমিতে এবং ফল দিল—
কেউ শতগুণ, কেউ ষাটগুণ, কেউ ত্রিশগুণ।
যার কান আছে, সে যেন শোনে।’”

And such great crowds gathered around Him that He stepped into a boat and sat down,
while the whole multitude stood on the beach.
And He told them many things in parables, saying:
‘A sower went out to sow,
and as he sowed, some seeds fell along the road,
and the birds came and ate them.
Some fell on rocky ground, where they had little soil,
and they sprang up quickly, but when the sun rose,
they were scorched, and having no root, withered away.
Some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them.
But others fell on good soil and produced grain—
some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
